There may still be snow on the ground, but we’re dreaming of summer. The finishing touches have just been placed on the event marketing for a sophisticated summer party, and it’s time to unveil the result!
As we’ve been putting the finishing touches on the Global Adventures reply card for the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Sunset Affair to send out in a few weeks, we’ve learned the zoo is facing a predicament. A very GOOD predicament. The event is already SOLD OUT.
We are happy to announce that we are working with Como Park Zoo and Conservatory to create the logo for the 11th annual Travelers Sunset Affair. This year’s theme is Global Adventure, and in preparation, we created three logo concepts to present the Como committee for consideration. Our goal: to set the scene for a wonderful summer evening party.
As a marketing firm that puts great emphasis on our creative, we always enjoy the beginning phase of a project, where we concept and explore different directions a project could go. As The M Group took on this year’s theme for Como Park Zoo & Conservatory’s Travelers Sunset Affair, it was no different.

More of the colorful — but plastic — birds will pop up at downtown parks though July 11, all part of a campaign to promote Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The nonprofit group Como Friends is recording the fanciful travels of the zoo’s actual flamingos in a blog found at comofriends.org.
A flock of plastic flamingos has landed in Mears Park and we know why. Como Zoo and Conservatory is launching an invitational and awareness campaign to its 10th annual summer fundraiser gala, Travelers Sunset Affair: South American Soirée, July 21, and a Community Night, July 11.
Announcing this year’s logo for Como Zoo and Conservatory’s Sunset Affair! Many kudos to Garrett Lofgren, our designer who created the beautiful image of a stained-glass flamingo. He did an outstanding job. This year’s theme is South American Soirée. It will be a delightful evening of South American festivities—tango dancers, auction, delicious food and of course flamingos.
For the last few years, we’ve been the marketing partner for Como Park Zoo and Conservatory’s largest fundraiser, Sunset Affair. If you haven’t attended Sunset Affair, it is the summer’s must-attend social engagement. They look to us for the marketing communications plan, design work and public relations for the event, and the theme has just been announced for this year: South American Soirée.
