There may still be snow on the ground, but we’re dreaming of summer. The finishing touches have just been placed on the event marketing for a sophisticated summer party, and it’s time to unveil the result!
A flock of pink flamingos landed in downtown St. Paul’s Mears Park on Tuesday.
More of the colorful — but plastic — birds will pop up at downtown parks though July 11, all part of a campaign to promote Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The nonprofit group Como Friends is recording the fanciful travels of the zoo’s actual flamingos in a blog found at comofriends.org.
A flock of plastic flamingos has landed in Mears Park and we know why. Como Zoo and Conservatory is launching an invitational and awareness campaign to its 10th annual summer fundraiser gala, Travelers Sunset Affair: South American Soirée, July 21, and a Community Night, July 11.
Announcing this year’s logo for Como Zoo and Conservatory’s Sunset Affair! Many kudos to Garrett Lofgren, our designer who created the beautiful image of a stained-glass flamingo. He did an outstanding job. This year’s theme is South American Soirée. It will be a delightful evening of South American festivities—tango dancers, auction, delicious food and of course flamingos.
For the last few years, we’ve been the marketing partner for Como Park Zoo and Conservatory’s largest fundraiser, Sunset Affair. If you haven’t attended Sunset Affair, it is the summer’s must-attend social engagement. They look to us for the marketing communications plan, design work and public relations for the event, and the theme has just been announced for this year: South American Soirée.
