Microsoft Taps The M Group to Participate in PhizzPop Design Challenge   |   January 5, 2009

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 5, 2009 –The M Group Creative has been asked to participate in Microsoft’s PhizzPop Design Challenge next week in Minneapolis. The PhizzPop Design Challenge sets top interactive, web, and design agencies against one another to push the limits of technology and creativity in a battle to get to South by Southwest Interactive Conference (SXSW) in Austin, TX. Key players from The M Group’s design and development team will compete on behalf of the agency.

This years’ PhizzPop competition started in November 2008, rotating events in New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami. Winners of these events go onto SXSW in March to compete for the overall challenge. In Minneapolis, Microsoft partnered with MIMA (Minnesota Interactive Marketing Associations) to bring this design challenge to the top creative agencies in the Midwest.

The competition begins with three days of training on Microsoft’s latest technologies including Expression Suite, Blend 2 and Silverlight. Following the training, each agency team receives the business challenge to solve, utilizing the various Microsoft applications. With only 5 days to design and build the experience, each group presents their innovative thinking to a panel of judges at the final event and presentation held at Solera in downtown Minneapolis.
