MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 11, 2011 – The M Group is announced as a Deubener Award finalist for outstanding achievement, the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce’s highest honor. Selection for the Deubener Award is based on criteria in the areas of growth, excellence, risk, diversity, and innovation.
Launched in 2008, The M Group has covered significant ground as a full-service creative and digital agency. With a lineup of local and national clients including US Bank, Microsoft, Andersen Windows, Como Zoo and others, The M Group has successfully launched mobile apps, online communities, web apps, social networks, interactive campaigns and more for its clients. The Deubener Award is in its 30th year and presented in memory of a couple who is the embodiment of a small business success story. Walter and Lydia Deubener took an innovative approach to make a difference in the community. Proprietors of a grocery store in the early 1900s, Walter & Lydia Deubener are credited with creating and patenting the first shopping bag with handles. The couple eventually sold their store to go into the shopping bag business. In 1919, they sold nearly one million bags. The presentation of the annual award continues to honor them today.

The Deubener Award winners will be announced Nov. 3 at the Third Annual Chamber Honors Gala in the Landmark Center in St. Paul.
